This plan is an innovative package which extends the concept of the Novated Lease to a third party who is the employee's 'associate'.

The 'Associate', that is spouse, child, relative or family company supplies a vehicle to the employee's company. Lease payments are the made by the employer as part of the employee's remuneration. Any amount of the operating lease payments to the associate in excess of depreciation and interest costs, if incurred, represents an additional benefit of being an effective income split.

Ownership of the Volvo motor vehicle remains always with the associate.

The lease payments and running costs can form part of your total remuneration as a 'salary sacrifice', with personal income tax being applied only to the remaining cash component. You will need your employer's agreement prior to entering into a Volvo Novated Lease.
